New Erasmus Student in Jensen lab

For the next six months, Francesca Piazzalonga will be part of the Jensen Group, focusing on characterizing a novel cell line made with the aim of improving the current cellular modeling of α-Synuclein aggregate cytopathology that could be targeted by therapy.

The aim of this 6 months traineeship is to carry out biochemical analysis of cell culture experiments combined with immunofluorescence analysis in order to detect α-Synuclein aggregate abnormalities.

The presence of these aggregates plays a central role in the development of neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease and Lewy dementia.

For this reason, the project will focus on characterizing a novel cell line made with the aim of improving the current cellular modeling of α-Synuclein aggregate cytopathology that could be targeted by therapy.

Welcome Francesca!
